This ones for all the blue collar garage builders! Do you have a drivetrain that’s been stashed in the back room of your shop for way too long? Bought an engine on chopperswapper with a bill of sale only? Don’t worry, I got you covered. Over the last few years I’ve been putting a bug in the ear of the powers that be inside the prestigious Paughco factory about letting me take a crack at building a complete roller using 100% Paughco parts. Well they finally got sick of me asking!
Stance is everything to me. I’ve always been a fan of a stock rake frame with an extended front end. Kicking those lower frame rails up just enough. Stock rake, 7” post risers, drag bars, and a “6 over narrow springer with some cool chevrons you might find familiar. We used this design on two of the springers I built for Born Free. It adds that classic Harley feel to it. Combine that with a 21” spool wheel up front and a 16” wheel out back and what you are left with is in my own opinion the PERFECT chopper stance. Now about the tank. 60 miles is all you need before your kidneys start to rattle. So we went with a custom Frisco style tank that was narrowed even more. We put the petcock all the way to the rear so you can get every last drop of fuel. Lastly, what more do you need besides a 5 1/2” trailer fender and a sissy bar to strap your case of beer too? This roller assembly was thought out from front to back to provide you with a great baseline to build the perfect budget chopper that comes with an MSO from Paughco so that you can walk right into the DMV. Best of all, it’s been priced super affordably. All you need is an engine, transmission and a dream!
This roller assembly will need assembly. Which means you will need to build it. This is a great baseline of parts, the rest is up to you. Happy building! Make sure to tag us on your progress!
